My Grandpa just got an EZ Crank Solar Flashlight Radio for his birthday and he asked me how to charge a cell phone on it, because in the instructions it says that you can. Is there like an extension cord thing that he needs to buy?

i do not need a phone that texts. i do not need one that will go on the internet. i do not need one that will allow me to talk for hours. i travel for work. i just need one that if i have a flat tire i can contact someone. as it is now everytime i need it i forgot to charge the dang thing,

you do realize that its not like cell phones are powered by a coal power plant, right? You can charge a battery any way you want to. Its even pretty easy to make some minor modifications to a solar poweresd calculator so that it recharges a lithium battery

Can you watch a solar eclipse through your cell phone?
I guess you can, the cell phone is not going to emit UV from a movie file, but I wonder if holding it up to block the moon/sun would provide enough protection so standing behind it you can watch the eclipse directly in real time by just watching the video view of your cell phone?

You will do serious damage to your camera lens if you do not use the proper filters.
Often times, the brightness of the sun will cause temporary “shorts” in the light sensors in the camera. Resulating in a sun with a black dot in the center.

I was just wondering, if I charge my phone with this small solar panel, will the battery overcharge if i leave it too long, or will the phone stop charging the battery by itself. If it does overcharge, what can i buy to prevent this from happening. I have the Verizon Alias.
