Fifty thousand jobs. That’s the number of wind farm jobs the Obama Administration says were created by stimulus funding in 2009. Only problem? They’re taking credit for jobs created during former President George W. Bush’s term.

Should the Staten Island Dump be turned into a wind farm?
Do you live in NYC do you think this should happen.
I have been to staten island a couple of times and I think its a good idea but only if they cleanup the place first.
It can create more jobs and it can create more green energy for the future of nyc so why would anybody say no to this? If u dont like this idea tell me why and also if you agree with me

I live in Staten Island, myself. The Dump is across the street from the Staten Island Mall. The other day at school in my social studies class, my teacher said that she read in the newspaper how they planned to turn it into a park, just liked they did for the dump at Great Kills(also in Staten Island). Then the class conversation lead to the March of Dimes and how this air affects mothers and their children. And my teacher said, “How can they turn a place to where they store garbage to a place where children are riding bikes and having fun?” My teacher thought that it was a stupid ides to do that to the kids. As you might already know, Staten Island is the Borough of Parks, because we have so much parks in this borough. They said if they turned this huge dump into a park, Staten Island would be filled with parks and it would live up to the name of The Borough of Parks.
Sorry for my long speech…..but I doubt that it will turn it into a wind farm if they already have the park idea in mind. Although I do agree with you that the Wind Farm is a good idea, but I don’t think they would do it.

Why is Obama taking credit for jobs which were created before he took office?
The Obama administration is crediting its anti-recession stimulus plan with creating up to 50,000 jobs on dozens of wind farms, even though many of those wind farms were built before the stimulus and before Obama was inaugurated. Why is he trying to take credit for jobs created with which had nothing to do with his failed stimulus plan?
