I want to make a windmill. What kind of joint would be used to attach to the moving parts so that they move?
adminsta answers:
You would need a bearing and a shaft then it should go back to a pully that is attached to whatever purpouse you have decided to make it for pumping water generating electricity all have different applications you would have to be a lot more thorough and I am sure have a schematics drawing

Ken asks…
About how many moving parts are in a windmill? Any extra info on windmill efficiency?
adminsta answers:
Modern windmills do have a lot of moving parts. They will typically have a main bearing that supports the blades and lets them spin, then they’ll have another large bearing that allows the entire head to rotate to face the wind. The blades are connected to a generator, usually through a gearbox that matches the rotating speed to something that the generator can efficiently turn into electricity. A more sophisticated windmill will also be able to pivot the blades like a helicopter, to change their pitch and let them get the most push out of whatever speed of wind is available.
Each of these systems might have multiple bearings, multiple gears, and extra pieces to cool things that get hot, or lubricate things that rub. Modern windmills engineering marvels, and can be comparable to a car in their complexity, and similar to a plane in their design method.

Charles asks…
wat are the parts used electricity generating windmill?
adminsta answers:
You have a number of things:
1. Air foil of some sort (fan, propeller, etc).
2. Stand (to put air foil up into the wind).
3. Generator (to take the turning force of the wind and convert it to electricity).
4. Electrical conversion hardware. Most people put the energy into batteries for delayed usage or synchronize it to the power grid and sell it back to the power company. The conversion hardware you need depends on what you are doing with the hardware.

Paul asks…
