Paul asks…
Why are “ANTI-Greenies” in denial?….?
Why are skeptics in such denial? Are they afraid to admit to the facts? I don’t mean what scientists say…They are getting paid by the “government”….I mean the facts you see everyday when you step outside, drink from your faucet, or drive down the road…etc.
It‘s just common sense that recycling is needed to keep our earth clean, and compacting, reducing, reusing & conserving will save energy overall. Why use up all of the sources now, rather than preserve what we can for the future?
To me, it‘s just ignorance to keep trashing the ONLY earth we have. Why can’t people just realize that we have to work together on this to make a dramatic change?
I, for one, would rather breath fresher air, drink cleaner water, and live in a cleaner world, overall. How many are ther out there like me? What do you have to say about this?
What will it take to convince them?
Thanks so much thesmartalex…I am glad there are more out there with this same question…I hope to see more positive answers like yours…Very well put! God bless. (star this question…please)
enoriverbend…I see where your coming from…That’s why recycling companies use “REDUCE, REUSE, then the word recycle….They, along with so many others, encourage you to reduce, reuse & then recycle…You are absolutely right, it does, in some cases, cost more to recycle. BUT the whole point in recycling is to cut down on landfill rubbish…Common sense if you ask me!

This is an excellently worded and intelligent question, one of the best i have come across so far on yahoo answers. I have asked questions similar to this very one in the past and i also am baffled as to why people are anti recycling, and dont want to follow the correct course of action regarding the environment and global warming. I do also agree that the signs are everywhere i dont need a scientist to tell me what i am already experiencing everyday. The extreme weather shifts and glacial ice melts are more than enough to make one into an environmentalist. I am trying to get the word out and ask all skeptics to go read more about global warming and go into things with an open mind. I find that many skeptics do not research the topic and believe global warming or climate change is only making temperatures warmer but it is also the extreme change in temperatures and weather, cold or warm. Great question but there are some things that can just not be answered. I definately support you and your ideas on the environment.

Donald asks…
Energy saving everyday?
How much would i save on my bills if i had my own home, and watched tv like 2 hours, 2- 3 times a week, then unplug it when i’m done using it, and not turn the water on while brushing my teeth, take only 8-10 minute showers, 3-4 times a week, not using my laptop as much then have to charge it after words, only use light when i really need to, you know things like that, every month?
adminsta answers:
Great attitude! To do this properly you need to work out what it has been costing you up to now, assuming you have your bills to hand from the last year or so you can do this. You can then set a monthly energy budget which if you do on a spreadsheet can calculate your savings. To help you change your habits invest in a Kill A Watt meter one that allows you to program in the cost of your electrical supply.

Robert asks…
Calculate the savings in a year…?
“Nationally, there were 217.8 million people age 18 and over, 35.9 million people age 65 and over, and 53.3 million children 5-17 as of July 1, 2003 according to estimates released by the U.S. Census Bureau”
1. Let us assume to save energy, every adult in the U.S. replaces one 60 watt incandescent light bulb with a compact fluorescent (CF) of 17 watts. They produce the same light with less power. Calculate how many energy this would save over the course of one year. (you many use any energy units you like: joules, btu’s, kWh…)
2. Determine how many barrels of oil this would save.
3. Using the present cost of a barrel of oil, about $46, estimate the dollar amount of this savings.
4. Assume that the cost of a CF is about $9. how many bulbs would this savings buy?
5. It has been proposed by some that there could be a dramatic drop in U.S. energy consumption if such a plan were to be carried out. Based upon the calculations in this question, do you think this idea is economically feasible?

William asks…
Manny pacquiao is actually on something?
Can you believe it? He was a flyweight, that means he was 112Ib, and now hes 150lb? are you kidding me? thats absulute bullshit, this is 40 pounds we’re talking about here. I like manny as a fighter but all things point to him being on something, I hope someone can prove me wrong with facts, but this is why i think so.
1)do you guys have any idea how hard it is to gain muscle mass when you‘re training boxing? infact, I couldnt gain anyweight at all due to inefficient fats, and i started losing muscle mass because my body due to insuffient energy even though i was eating 4-6 meals a day + protein shakes, my fat percentage was %8, thats the least a boxer has, due to all the cardiovascular training we do, i can hardly manage to run 9 miles, he runs 12, just think of how much less fat he has than me, not to mention he runs probably more regular than me.
2) secondly, i used to be a bodybuilder before hand. Now with a perfect diet (that has no flaws at all) the maximum a body builder can gain (the ones who dont do cardio, or very little because you need fats to build muscle) is 10 pounds of muscle a year, and thats if you‘re a fast gainer, if you‘re genes are PERFECT, however,if you‘re a hardgainer like me the most you can get is 5 pounds a year, So it would‘ve taken him 4 years without boxing training and then probably 6-12 months get his stamina back and get ready of the fat percentage.
3) hes performance is amazing, you can compare him to sugar ray robinson too, ray always managed to stay focused and in decent shape til the last 15th round, and yes he did more rounds I understand so he probably had to save energy, but pacquiao somehow seems to have his brain on a different level than his body, what i mean is he starts to let punches in, but his body never seems to get tired, ofcourse that could be due to an amazing training by his coach, but that would take years to get a stamina like his, he moves around, and he follow with fast/hard punches and steps back to avoid a punch and steps back in, its just amazing, which would mean he would have to not follow the body builders guide to gain muscle, so he probably would have added only couple of pounds a year, if hes lucky. (body builders main aim is to get bigger and have a propotioned body).
Thanks for going through this, I would like to see you‘re opinions and facts on this topic.
P.S. I aint no hater, I infact love this guy.

Manny Pacqiao turned professional in 1995 when he was just a kid that was still growing and if you were to even you-tube his early fights you can clearly see he was way less mature and no where near as developed and mature as he is today. I fully understand this as I boxed as a flyweight (112 pounds) in amateur international competition and national boxing matches in 1994 and in 1995 by the time I fought my professional debut I was struggling to make 130 and eventually competed in the lightweight division where I always struggled to get down to 135 pounds because I had matured and filled out not because I took any performance enhancing drugs heck I wouldn’t even use caffeine.
1.) Your point is significant for yourself as you are going off how your body is, but every person is different and I know from personal experience that is exact opposite yours that you can train and even train harder and more efficiently that what you have and gain incredible amounts of weight as I went from 80 pounds in 1991 to 135 pounds in 1996 and outside of the fact I grew nearly a full foot in height I was physically stronger and had less body fat.
2.) I ask you just to look at the answer I gave for your 1st question because this should cover any more questions you could have.
3.) I agree with what you have stated in your 3rd statement I just do not see a question. He does get tired but has a great ability to recover just look when he fought against Margarito he was much the smaller man in the ring and at times was very tired but through his incredible ability to move and tie up he was able to play off how exhausted he actually was at times, that is just showing his amazing ring generalship and wits in the ring something that comes from years of training. There has never been a single shred of any evidence that Manny Pacquiao has ever used any illegal Performance enhancing drugs-if there was any it would be exposed immediately to the world and media everywhere!
