Michael asks…
Who knows about this Energy Plus company?
Keep in mind this is directly related to Northwest Airlines worldperks miles.
If you do know this, could you explain it all to me?
particularly these questions:
i keep using the company of cl&p and i also get the energy plus company? does that i mean i get electricity from both companies? i have to pay both? it says no service changes so i don’t know. i can only have one right? it says my existing local utility company will continue, yet it says “switch”? bit confusing?
adminsta answers:
I just signed up for the northwest airlines worldperks offer where you get miles for your electric bill if you switch to energy plus. As i understand it, cl&p is more of a delivery company. They deliver the energy produced by energy plus. Typically cl&p purchases electricity from certain producers and delivers it to homes. Now in CT we have the option to choose who we essentially purchase our electricity from. On your end, nothing changes except possibly the fees which you have to look into but the bill, billing, etc. Are all the same. No two bills, just one. You can log onto your acct. At cl&p and browse around for the different companies and see how their average rate compares to other companies, e.g. Wind vs. Coal produced electricity, etc. Hope this helps.

• Contains nearly all known nutrients, all 22 amino acids, minerals, vitamins and enzymes.
• Great energy booster – bee pollen is taken widely by athletes for stamina and for weight control

Mary asks…
Will Starbucks double shot plus energy work?
Like will it give me energy/wake me up? If not what do you recommend?
adminsta answers:
Oh it will work fine for about 1 hour, then you will start to CRASH big time. You’re better eating some carbs and your coffee rather than a energy boost. The carbs will give you a more sustained energy.

Sandy asks…
Anyone using Energy Plus as their electrical supplier instead of Con Ed?
Since I don’t know anything about the company and the only utility company in New York, I’ve ever been with is Con Ed. I would like to switch if rates are lower and they are reliable. Then again, you can’t get worse than Con Ed..
adminsta answers:
No! Sorry. Maybe the NYECC can enlighten you.
They have info on
* Central Hudson Gas & Electric
* Consolidated Edison
* Keyspan
* National Fuel Gas
* New York State Electric & Gas
* Niagara Mohawk
* Orange & Rockland
* Rochester Gas & Electric
* Long Island Power Authority
* New York Independent System Operator

Nancy asks…
Has anyone heard of energy plus?
I just got an email from US Airways offering 7500 bonus miles if I switch energy providers. Is it worth the points to switch over?
adminsta answers:
YES, The company is owned by Richard Vague. According to some online info Energy Plus buys power through a trading desk owned by one of the really large energy companies.
They try to get small customers away from the big suppliers. They don’t promise to be cheaper, just “competitive”. The president of the company is Kevin Kleinschmidt. They are currently one of the fastest growing small companies in Philadelphia but they also sell electricity to about 30,000 home owners and small businesses in New York. In recent press coverage Kleinschmidt expressed the company’s intention to expand into Texas. Their primary website is www.energyplus.com If you are interested in Green Business Opportunities or were considering Energy Plus as a Green Business Opportunity I suggest looking at the following links. Thomas asks…
is a/c drain line covered on your centerpoint energy service plus plan?
it sounds like our drain line for our a/c is clogged. can we call the gas company out for that and have it covered by the service plus plan or who do we call? how do you even get up in the ceiling to drain it? we live in a mobile home and there is no attic opening.
adminsta answers:
No,… Do not call the gas company. They will laugh at you and hurt your feelings.
(just telling the truth)
How exactly does a clogged condensate sound?
Unless you have a packaged unit up there, neither you or anyone else has any business trying to get on the roof of a mobile home. MH’s do not have attics. As to the condensate drain, you don’t drain it; its supposed to drain itself, but if it doesn’t then you need a qualified a/c tech out there to evaluate what is going on.
My guess is that you have a ducted swamp cooler up there with a leak in it.

Steven asks…
Earthquakes, Energy Plus? Is there a way to harvest electricity from earthquakes?
http://www.nytimes.com/2010/02/28/world/americas/28quake.html?ref=science
Is there a way to harvest electricity from zones where earthquakes frequently happen or where one can occur?
adminsta answers:
Not yet. And probably not ever.Most earthquakes result when the force acting on the rocks gets high enough to cause fracturing or overcomes friction. Since most of it has to do with movement of the earth’s plates, I don’t see anything happening along that line. GeoThermal power generation can be a viable means to generate electricity. See The Geysers in California and The Big Island of Hawaii.

Joseph asks…
what does potential energy plus gravitational energy equal?
adminsta answers:
Usually potential energy is gravitational energy. You may also see potential energy in the form of a compressed spring, for example, but there are only two types of energy: potential and kinetic. Gravitational energy is always potential energy, so I think your question might be incorrect.
