Kyokushin Karate, What are the best ways of conserving energy during a Grading, Tips appreciated?

Thanks Luca, don’t stop taking the Tablets and enjoy your’e 2 points
Yes it has 3 Kata’s at my stage!

First thing is you need to control your breathing. A meditative breathing exercise has your tongue on the roof of your mouth behind your teeth, you breath in through your nose and out through your mouth. Take deep breaths and control yourself.

Don’t throw all of your strength into each technique. That will just tire yourself out needlessly. And this part is true with all techniques not just on a test. It isn’t about the muscles that you put into your strike but the technique of it. The speed, control, the targeting through your target, not the muscles that you can throw. That part will just tire you out. Think of it this way. Hold out your arm and have someone push it to your hip (from parallel to the ground) and apply no resistance. It then just flops. Then use all your muscles and then you are still over powered and pushed down. Then relax all muscles but remain firm and don’t let your arm be moved. You should be stronger then when you used your muscles. That is the concept of remaining relaxed but firm. This will help retain energy.

Bring water to your test. When they say go get water you don’t want to be running all over the place wasting more energy.

Figure out which part you can use to gain some energy back. I don’t know if kyokushin has kata, but that can be a good area to relax and regain some energy.

Everytime you are waiting before your next technique control your breathing, relax your body, and relax your mind.

Don’t look at the clock.

How can the U.S. government assist in conserving energy?

I know many ways that we, the people, can reduce the use of so much energy. Can you think of any ways that the government could help us in conserving energy? Maybe some tips or suggestions that we cannot make ourselves?

adminsta answers:

I think its great giving incentives to be energy efficient such as tax deductions and money back for using solar panels, driving hybrids, purchasing enery efficient appliances, even rebates on things like energy efficient lightbulbs. So many people don’t buy these green products because they can’t afford them.

How do you keep your energy up through the day (I’m 60+)?

I am fairly well motivated and as a result I am spent by the end of the day or before, maybe I need tips on not spending or conserving energy,I have trouble walking past something that needs doing lol.Any success stories?

adminsta answers:

Your doing the right things, being active and busy. Make sure you have a decent ,high protein breakfast, and healthy lunch and dinner, between meals avoid carbs ,drink water ,take short rests, if watching a certain daily tv program works, go for it, or read, or doze.
My challenge is the opposite, this morning i walked the dog, had b/fast ,did some house hold tasks ,BEFORE heading for the computer, how good is that ?. LOL.

energy conservation program?

what are some tips for conserving energy in a manufacturing facility that won’t impede production

adminsta answers:

Flourescent lights (with motion sensors in the areas that are not high traffic). Solar panel roofs (the company I work for did this for a manufacturing facility in nevada last year). Increase the temperature at which the AC or heat (decrease the temp) kicks on. Shut down equipment to standby levels when not in use and does not impede production. Change manufacturing methods for things such as painting to ones which use less energy. Put shades on windows. Use fans instead of AC.

I am sure that I will think of others later, but this is what I have off the tope of my head.

Any tips on how to de-spider-ize my room?

During the summer, especially when I open my window/put my air conditioner in, I have a problem with spiders in my room. It is especially a problem because I have arachnophobia.

In the past I have duct taped around my window but spiders still seem to get through my AC when it is off, crawling right through where the cool air blows. Any tips on how to stop this from happening?

I’d like to conserve energy this summer so I won’t leave my AC on all the time and this is bound to happen again. I was thinking screen over the top of it, but I think that might be a little too much.

Any other tips on de-spider-izing my room?

Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!

adminsta answers:

Closing the ‘fresh air vent’ on the AC should keep them from
getting through the unit.
Spiders only wander indoors looking for food (other insects)
or mates.
Spiders are going to find their way in, no mater what precautions
you take,it is a part of life.
By limiting their access, the only thing left is to deal with the ones
that do get in. A vacuum, and routine cleaning seems to work
the best. You can also put out sticky traps for the ‘crawlies’.
Arachnophobia is no joke to the person that has it, but if this
is influencing your life, you might consider dealing with this
also.

James asks…

Living green and eating healthy on a MAJOR budget?

We’re poor, I’m not afraid to admit it. I’m married with a year-old son and a baby on the way. We’re on CalWORKS (call it welfare if you want to be a jerk), and I just can’t eat as healthy as I would like with food stamps – organic and vegetarian is just not an option for us. I can’t use canvas shopping bags unless I get them for free. I can recycle and conserve energy – but that’s about it.

But I want to DO MORE. Any tips?

adminsta answers:

You can find free things (like tote bags) on www.slickdeals.net. I have gotten many canvas bags from them. You could try and grow a garden, shop at farmer’s markets from time to time. It is important to support your local farmers.

A few competitive swimming tips?

I’m not in need of anything in particular but anything that could help would be most appreciated– youtube videos, tips from experience, etc.

on a personal note: i swim freestyle and backstroke. i cannot swim breaststroke or butterfly to save my life. i do both long distance and sprints.

i need tips on how to improve my freestyle and backstroke, how to do breaststroke and butterfly, how to conserve energy for long distance, how to go as fast as possible for sprints, how to keep a steady pace (breathing), and anything else you guys would like to add. THANKS A BUNCH (:
ANNND how to dive properly, and when and what to eat so that i can have the most energy.

adminsta answers:

Well for me I’m a distance swimmer. I always listen to pumped up
music, and goof a around a big laugh before i swim my race, so I’m not
worried about swimming my race. For me i say that don’t eat anything
before your race, i don’t know about you but i always get upset stomachs.
Also, make sure your not breathing to much, but made me not breath
as much was to count to 5 and then breath, And work your way up. Now
on long distance. You want to be at a steady pace. But don’t go all out
you want to save that energy for the last 50 or 25. Now on diving. Ask your couch to look at your dive. If they see something that’s odd about it
they’ll help you out that’s what your couches are for. And make sure you have a good relationship with your couch, And always ask them
questions. They will be more likely to help you!
