Everyone knows that global warming is getting worse, then why don’t they start saveing energy now?
Global warming is getting worse, people know this and the consequences. But is there any way for them to start saving energy? Why must they wait until it is too late?

Global warming or climate change is a hoax if it was real then why doesn’t Al Gore recycle and plant trees? What about the dust bowl back in the 1930′s there was no SUV’s. I recycle and I plant trees flowers and a lot of things and I also support the tree loggers.

I think minimum water with pan covered on and minimum heat on so just simmer should be the most economical way to heat up water!

I want to know how much of a sacrifice individuals are willing to make in their daily lives. I fear that on a one by one basis not too much!

I started using energy saving bulbs, now my socket is shorted and other is crackling like its about to pop?
What can be causing this problem, the bulb or the socket? Please help. Someone who knows.

OK just to clear the air here,
Energy saving bulbs are designed to give same amount of light with less wattage, IE
40 W Incandescent = 15 W Compact Flourescant
60W In. = 20 W CFL
100 W In. = 24 W CFL
And all major manufacturers offer Dimmable models.
As for your fixtures shorting and popping sounds, hmmm thats another issue. I can not think of a way in which a CFL would typically cause a short in your socket so I suspect that it is possible that the bulb was overtightened on installation causing the socket to (possibly) turn and the short occured soon thereafter.
The popping sound can be coming from the CFL.
CFL’s like other flourescant bulbs use a “ballast” to initiate the heating of the flourescent gases. Sometimes a ballast can be bad and make noise. (Think overhead lights in typical commercial space when bulbs start flickering, only smaller scale.)
Have a competent person with electrical skills look at the shorted socket and contact manufacturer of the bulb making noise. Many times they will replace a defective bulb free of charge (less S&H)

Will using a fan in lieu of the ac save my energy bill?
I’m trying to cut down on my energy bill and now that its not so hot where I live, I’ve been using a fan at home more frequently and only turn on the ac when its really hot.

This will save you a lot of energy costs. A fan is just moving air which helps your body to evaporate water from your sweat which takes energy from your skin and feels cooling.
AC (Air Conditioning) uses a heat pump to lower the temperature of the air in your room and at the same time to lower the amount of water in the air (humidity). This allows your body to evaporate water more easily and lets your skin feel cooler. The power required to run the AC is many times higher than for a simple ceiling fan. Just imagine how much energy is required to lower the temperature of all of the air in your room or house? The extracted heat is then pumped out side into the environment increasing outside temperatures if you are unlucky enough to be standing near to the exhaust heat exchanger.

Over 600 million dollars have been spent trying to get Obama elected and we all know most of this did not come from average people. Oprah, Clooney and Obama terrorist friends have invested too much in him to quit now. Save your energy and vote McCain and give Hillary a shot in 2012.

So…with the pick of Biden I will NEVER consider voting for the democratic ticket. Also, if Obama campaign ever monitors this site hear this loud and clear…MY CATHOLIC VOTE IS NOT FOR SALE. If that was one of the reasons for choosing Biden it WILL NOT WORK. I have lost all respect for Biden.
