Texas: Solar Energy Hitting State in 1 Month = All Energy Texas Oil & Gas Industry Has EVER Produced

Being a conservative, are you aware that we spend a tremendous amount of tax and health insurance premium money to support the burning of coal? It’s really wasteful how much money we spend in addition to what we pay at the meter. Estimates are that coal produced electricity costs at least $0.18kWh.

Solar, in sunny locations, is already down to $0.15/kWh and will continue to drop in price.

Solar produces power during the hours in which utility companies often pay far, far more for power from gas peaker plants. having solar available means that utility companies cut their costs and our price at the meter can drop.

Solar is already a conservative’s dream. It’s producing cheaper power, saving us both personal and government money. And it’s going to get even better, a lot better.

And solar is creating a lot of good jobs in America. More people off the dole, making a good living to support their families, supporting local businesses, and paying taxes. It’s the sort of stuff we need to get our country rolling once more.

(More people working means more people buying your steaks. ;o)

Nordex gets 250MW of wind turbine orders from Pakistan

Nordex gets 250MW of wind turbine orders from Pakistan

The turbine manufacturer says the supply deals cover five projects of 20 machines each, subject to their approval by the Pakistan authorities and securing finance.

All the developments are in Sindh Province and will use Nordex’s N100/2500 turbines.

Two of the projects, owned by subsidiaries of the Fauji Foundation industrial conglomerate, will see construction begin in 2012.

Another Fauji subsidiary, Fauji Fertlizer Company, awarded Nordex its first 50MW project in Pakistan in 2010, for which the first turbines will be shipped next month.

The customers for the other three projects are Gul Ahmed Wind Power, Metro Power Company and Yunus Energy. Construction of those wind farms is due to take place next year and in 2013.

Parent companies Gul Ahmed Energy and Yunus Brothers Group have already invested in conventional power in Pakistan and are now expanding their portfolios with renewable projects.

“Pakistan is the most important Asian market outside China for Nordex today,” says the German group’s chief strategy officer Lars Bondo Krogsgaard.

“The fact that we were able to sign contracts with four customers at the same time shows that we are already a very trusted supplier there.”

Nordex says it is convinced that Pakistan’s wind market will develop at a rapid pace, noting that the country’s government estimates the exploitable potential in Sindh Province alone to be around 11GW.

From Ebay Zero to Power Selling Hero: How To Learn New Tricks Without Spending

The Internet is the fastest-changing marketplace on
earth. Million-dollar ideas from one year ago might not
generate a single penny today. and the best search engine
optimization strategies from months ago may be completely
invalid now.

But this doesn’t affect the best Internet entrepreneurs.
It only hurts the one-hit wonders. In fact, it is what
separates the top sellers from the struggling sellers.

Most of the struggling sellers rely entirely on the
information they get from ebooks.

The best entrepreneurs know that you must be able to
conduct your own analysis if you want to stay on the top.
Books and courses can help you get there, but ultimately,
you must learn how to conduct your own research.

Now, you can spend hundreds of hours and dollars
researching this for yourself. or you can purchase
a service that does this for you.

Or, if you’re looking to start your business on a
shoe-string budget like most sellers, you can simply
use the top-sellers’ examples.

In today’s lesson, I am going to show you one way you
can do this: reverse engineering.

Start by going to Ebay.com and searching for something
you personally sell in your store. for example, if you
sell stereos, search for stereo.

Take your list of results and use it to find successful
sellers. look for powersellers, sellers with stores,
sellers with large inventories, and sellers with a
lot of positive feedback.

Look at these sellers and try to determine the exact
methods they use to make sales: do they use templates?
–If so, how are they constructed? do they use a lot
of pictures? do they use ad copy?

What words did they use in the title? is there a
subtitle? is it featured? is it bold? what date and time
did they list it? is it part of a dutch auction?

Does the seller own an Ebay store?–If so, how is
that store arranged?

Does the seller get the majority of her auction traffic
from Ebay or does she advertise somewhere else?

How many items are in the seller’s inventory? What
price ranges do her auctions span? How do her prices
compare to yours?

Does she purchase her inventory from another Ebay
seller?–If so, can you also use that seller to stock
your inventory?

There are dozens of questions you can ask and
corresponding answers for all of them. you must
determine what you need to ask–and then use the
reverse engineering method to answer it.

Planning & Zoning To Debate Windmill Ordinance

Planning & Zoning To Debate Windmill Ordinance

COLUMBIA – a Boone Electric Cooperative official said Wednesday Boone County is not windy enough for windmills, despite the planning & Zoning Commission’s plans to debate a new windmill ordinance Thursday.

BEC Member Services Manager Chris Rohlfing said the winds in mid-Missouri are too weak and inconsistent for a windmill to produce enough power to offset its installation costs. He said only two residences outside Columbia have installed windmills.

Even so, Columbia officials have said they want to make it easier for residents and businesses to install their own wind turbines. Planner Matthew Lepke said no mechanism currently exists for approving a windmill. the ordinance set to be presented at a hearing Thursday evening sets up procedures for getting permits, height, color and noise regulations, and safety requirements. Officials say there is only one windmill in Columbia.

Rohlfing said he’s always happy to help people install windmills on their home or business, but he thinks solar panels provide better returns. If a person does want to install a windmill, he said windmills with vertical blades work better than propeller-style windmills because it takes less breeze to move them.

Turbine Powers Upstate N.Y. Organic Farm

Cross Island Farms, on Wellesley Island in the St. Lawrence River in Upstate new York, was already growing organic produce and free-range animal products. but the owners were looking to do even more to be green. So Dani Baker and David Belding worked with Alternative Power Solutions of Northern new York to explore wind power – and the result is a 120-foot-tall, 10-kilowatt wind turbine on the farm, the renewable-energy developer said.

Baker said she was inspired to look into the possibilities of using wind power by the whirring turbines she had seen in the American Southwest. “They were such a nice addition to the rural landscape,” she said. “When we decided to start Cross Island Farms we began investigating alternative power sources.”

The local Board of Appeals was enthusiastic about the project after seeing a presentation, and approved it unanimously. In addition, Baker and Belding were supported by Thousand Island Land Trust, Indian River Lakes Conservancy and the Jefferson County Agricultural Development Corporation, as well as by the community at large. They received grants for the project from new York’s Energy Research and Development Authority and the U.S. Department of Agriculture, which covered some of the installation costs.

To ensure the safety of their free-ranging animals, Baker and Belding had to be extra careful about the specifics of the wind turbine. They opted to keep most of the turbine’s structure underground, with the tower and windmill freestanding above ground, removing the need for guide wires, and Belding plans to build a small fence around the tower itself.

Installing the wind turbine isn’t all Cross Island Farms has planned. other forms of alternative energy will be installed, including a solar array and a propane generator. Baker and Belding plan to work with Alternative Power Solutions on all of the projects. “This wind turbine is in an ideal location so close to the St. Lawrence River,” said Owen Pugh, owner of Alternative Power Solutions. “We estimate that it will supply the farm with hefty savings on their energy bill. It’s great to see more farmers taking advantage of alternative energy.”

Windmill Shut Down Systems

1309825510 74 Windmill Shut Down Systems

Shut-down systems are comforting to have, but their use is an admission of defeat, because a shut down windmill is a missed opportunity. It is bad enough that windmills will not work in calm weather; they ought to work full time in windy weather!

Good governing systems should cope automatically with any wind speed. but if there is a serious loss of balance in the rotor, or an electrical failure, then an emergency stop can be useful. Also, when raising and lowering a windmill on its tower in a breeze, the rotor must be stopped.

Mechanical brakes are rare in small windmills. A brake which is large enough to stop the mill in a good breeze needs to be well built. Half measures are not of much use. A good brake:

is expensive;takes up space in the ‘nacelle’ or clutters the shape of the windmill;requires maintenance and testing if it is to be relied upon, and so it is generally best avoided.

  1. Tilt back Windmill Systems The other arrangement for skewing the rotor to the wind…
  2. Avoiding Windmill Overload It is neither economic nor wise to fit the windmill…

Importance of the Sun

1306670110 91 Importance of the Sun

The Sun is the main source of energy for earth. It gives us heat and light and helps us to remove darkness and bring light all around the world. the Sun rises in the east and sets in the west. In olden days people use to worship Sun as God because it was the only visible powerful thing. In the early morning, birds welcome the Sun with a lovely and chirping song and this gives an indication to the mankind about the arrival of the new day. In the early morning, the sunrays helps us by providing Vitamin D which is essential for our skin. Some people are seen basking in the sunshine to get useful Vitamin D and get tanned as well.

The Sun helps the plants in preparing their food through its light by a process called as photosynthesis. thus, Sun is also essential for plant because if there were no Sun, plants would not have been able to prepare their food and survive. Human beings get their food from plants and so in the absence of the sunlight human also would have died. In this modern world conventional sources of energy like coal, petrol, diesel and gas are being used extensively and so their stock are getting reduced. Scientists are worried that with this speed, these conventional sources of energy will be fully exhausted and so they are trying to harness the Sun by using its energy for solar batteries, solar heaters, and for running cars as well.

Sunlight also helps to stop the growth of bacteria, insects and thus prevent the spread of diseases like malaria, typhoid, etc. if there were no sun there would have been severe cold all around and no human beings, birds, and animals and plant could have survived. the Sun is the centre of solar system and all the nine planets revolve around its fixed orbit. During a solar eclipse, the Sun, Earth and Moon come in a straight line such that moon lies in between the Earth and the Sun. we should not see the Sun with our naked eyes because the rays emerging out are harmful for our eyes. the ozone layer above the atmosphere prevents the harmful ultraviolet rays from entering into the earth’s atmosphere and thus protect the mankind from the harmful rays of the Sun.

i was wondering, what if we used wind turbines from the start, y'know.. no pollution to first injure the world, what would the world be like if it had always been wind turbines?
if you can please put some stats in your answer, thanks so much icon smile What condition would the world be in if everyone used wind turbines? God Bless♥

Will windmill electric generators work on Mars?

1302959417 91 Will windmill electric generators work on Mars?

Not very well — the atmosphere is not dense enough.

no
not enough air pressure to be effective

They will if there is sufficient wind. On other planets it depends on it's climate and atmosphere conditions.

according to the probes sent there Mars does have an atmosphere including wind so they should work there. The atmosphere can't support our life form with out artificial means.

Mars does have a thin atmosphere, making it hard for wind mills to work. But, as stated earlier, mars does have very high winds. Keep in mind that CO2 freezes out of the atmosphere in the winter, though, and will make it even less dense.

no. Atmospheric pressure on Mars is less that 1/100th of that on Earth, i.e. the air there is much too thin for windmill electric generators.

But solar photovoltaic cells would work just fine.

Nope. Air pressure there on the ground is about 1/200th of ours at ground level. So the atmosphere is too thin to be much use for wind power. being further from the Sun, photovoltaic panels will be less useful there than on Earth. Mars colonies will probably have to rely on nuclear power.

Not unless you put massive scoops on the rotor blades, because the atmosphere of Mars is pretty thin.

Yes, but the wind turbines would have to be engineered for the thin atmosphere. The turbines that we use here on the earth would have too much static inertia for the Matian winds to move them.

Solar power for under $2.00 per watt?

Solar power for under $2.00 per watt?

Is that possible? this one, slightly blemished, comes close:

http://www.affordable-solar.com/Evergreen-ES-A-205-fa3b-205W-PV-BLEM.htm

Any other suggestions? I guess $1.00 per watt is out of the question, even with rebates.

Why not ? It's just a Sell-price for some (used?) equipment after all.
